1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Blindspot ("the Service"), including our website at blindspot.study and our Chrome browser extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Blindspot is a language learning platform that provides AI-powered grammar checking, vocabulary building, writing practice, and grammar exercises. The Service includes a web application and a Chrome browser extension that allows users to save words from any webpage. The Service uses OpenAI's language models to analyze text, generate feedback, and create exercises.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. Credits and Payments

The Service operates on a credit-based system. New accounts receive a limited number of free credits. Additional credits can be purchased through the Service via Stripe.

Credits are used for writing reviews, grammar exercise generation, and vocabulary generation.
All purchases are processed securely by Stripe in USD.
Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
We reserve the right to modify pricing, credit packages, and the number of free credits at any time.
Refunds may be issued at our discretion. Please contact us if you believe a charge was made in error.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service, including texts for grammar review and vocabulary words. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to:

Process your text through AI models for grammar checking, translation, and feedback generation
Store your writing history, vocabulary, and exercise results to provide personalized learning
Track your progress (writing score, grammar confidence, vocabulary mastery)

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable. Submitted content may be filtered by AI moderation systems.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses OpenAI's language models to provide grammar feedback, translations, exercises, and rule explanations. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. The Service is intended as a learning aid and should not be relied upon as the sole source of language instruction. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

7. Chrome Extension

The Blindspot Chrome extension allows you to select and save words from web pages. The extension only processes text that you explicitly select and send. It does not collect, store, or transmit any other data from the web pages you visit, does not track your browsing history, and does not modify page content beyond displaying the save word interface.

8. Prohibited Uses

Using the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or backend systems
Interfering with or disrupting the Service or its infrastructure
Using automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without permission
Reselling, redistributing, or sublicensing the Service or its output
Circumventing the credit system or exploiting bugs to obtain free credits

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, AI prompts, grammar rules database, and educational content, is owned by Blindspot. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, inaccurate AI output, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits are non-refundable upon voluntary account deletion.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
